44 more infected with dengue

Forty-four more dengue-infected patients were admitted to hospitals and clinics yesterday in the capital, raising the number of infected people to 910, according to sources at the Dhaka City Corporation (DCC).

Meanwhile, thirty patients were cured and left clinics and hospitals yesterday, claimed a DCC statement.

Despite DCC claims of its invigorated anti-mosquito drive, residents of Purba Rajabazar, Dhaka University area and old parts of the capital said that mosquito population in their neighbourhoods continues to grow unabated.
