Withdrawal of edn minister's remarks demanded
Naripakhha, a non-government organisation working for women' rights, yesterday expressed its grave concern over the education minister's decision to relax provision to appoint 30 per cent female teachers to the non-government educational institutions, says a press release. They also demanded withdrawal of his remarks. Education Minister M Osman Farruk at a meeting with the madrasa teachers led by lawmaker Delwar Hossein Saydee on July 26 said the provision to appoint 30 per cent female teachers was made following the pressure of the donors and assured them that it would be relaxed soon.
