15 injured in Naogaon blast


A bomb went off at Mirzapur Bazar in Atrai upazila last night, leaving at least 15 people injured.

Police and locals said someone blasted the bomb at the bazar, 25 km off the district headquarters, at about 8:00pm.

"Panicked by the blast, traders at the bazar downed the shutters of their shops as people ran helter-skelter," says a spot account of the incident.

On information, police went to the spot and sent the injured to hospital.

Of the injured, condition of three--Dulal Hossain, Mijanur Rahman Mijan, a fish trader, and Bacchu--was stated to be critical.

Identity of other injured could not be known.
