79 more back home from Lebanon

Seventy-nine more stranded Bangladeshis returned home yesterday morning from war-battered Lebanon with assistance from International Organization for Migration (IOM).

With these latest returnees, their total number reached to 284.

Officials of the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bureau of Manpower Employment and Training, International Organization for Migration (IOM) and Qatar Charity were present at Zia International Airport (ZIA).

Etihad Airways and Qatar Charity donated Tk 3250 to each returnee while the expatriates' welfare ministry donated Tk 500 on their arrival at ZIA.

Neither IOM nor the expatriates' ministry sources could confirm if any other Bangladeshis in Lebanon registered to return home.
