Zimbabwe A square 4-day series

Alok Kapali smashed a scintillating hundred but it was not good enough for Bangladesh A to avoid a seven-wicket defeat against Zimbabwe A in the third and final four-day Test at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo yesterday.

With the success the youthful second-string Zimbabwean side squared the three-match series after losing the first game by the same margin. The exciting second match ended in a draw.

The right-handed Kapali converted his overnight score of 74 to a big hundred of 138, his second ton in the tour, as the visitors scored 292 all out in their second essay after resuming the final day on 217 for five.

But his efforts went down the drains as they failed to set a challenging target for the opponents. Zimbabwe A raced to the 90-run winning target losing three wickets in 18.4 overs. Pacer Hasibul Hossain took two wickets in the second innings.

Bangladesh A started their second innings with a 203-run deficit after being forced to follow-on scoring 150 in reply to Zimbabwe's 353.
