BDR said the victim, Rustam Moral, 30, was shot dead by BSF while he was returning home with cows through Goalkathi on the Indian side of the border at about 3:30pm. Son of Azizuddin, Rustam hailed from Komarpur village of Satkhira Sadar upazila.

BDR protested the killing and asked its Indian counterpart to return the body.

BDR said 10 Bangladeshis were shot dead by the BSF on Satkhira border in the last five weeks.

In Chuadanga, the Indian border guards kidnapped a farmer from Kakulia village of Damurhuda upazila yesterday.

BDR said the BSF men of Salurapara outpost entered the frontier village at noon and picked up Monirul Islam, who was working in his cropland near the border.
