Filing of false case protested

Leaders of Demra-Shyampur Pani-Bidyut Shangram Committee, who launched movement for better utility services in Shyampur-Demra area, condemned filing of false case by the ruling party cadres against their nine leaders and activists yesterday.In a statement, Shangram Committee leaders said ruling party cadres loyal to local MP Salahuddin filed a false case against Committee Convener Moslehuddin Masud, Md Suman, Bidhan, Ripon, Shohag, Masum, Mainu, Shahabuddin and Selim with Shyampur Police Station to suppress their rightful movement for better utility services. They also alleged that Jubo Dal cadres ransacked their houses and gave death threat to them. The police are also harassing their activists, they alleged. They also said the movement cannot be subdued by threats and if harassment is not stopped, they will again launch movement.
