UAE withdraws deportation order of Bangladeshi

The United Arab Emirates has withdrawn the order of deportation of a 15-year-old Bangladeshi boy charged with a trivial offence, a foreign ministry release said yesterday.

When the boy received the deportation order, his parents, finding no help from any quarter, approached the Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi for assistance. Later, they met Bangladesh Ambassador to the UAE and sought his help.

They mentioned that as the boy had no close relations in Bangladesh to look after him and he would not be able to continue his studies.

The Ambassador took up the mater with UAE interior minister. The UAE minister reviewed the case and decided to withdraw the deportation order.

The news came as a relief for the parents of the boy as well as the Bangladesh community in the UAE, said the foreign ministry release.
