3-hour work abstention today
Sangbadik Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad (SSKOP) called a three-hour work abstention from 11:ooam to 2:00pm protesting attack on journalists in Kushtia and killing and repression on journalists across the country, says a press release.Ruling-party 'cadres' attacked a rally of journalists on the public library premises in Kushtia, leaving former BFUJ president Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury and about 20 other journalists seriously injured on May 29. SSKOP, a platform of journalists, press workers and general employees, also organises a rally in front of the National Press Club at 11:00am today. Journalists, press workers and general employees of all newspapers, new agencies and electronic media are requested to attend the rally.
