Indigenous people urged the government to stop eviction of their people from Phulbari coal mine areas in Dinajpur in the name of coal extraction.Several thousand indigenous people gathered at the Central Shaheed Minar in the city yesterday protesting open-pit extraction of coal from Phulbari coalmine and eviction of indigenous people from the area. Under the banner of Uttarbanga Adivasi Unnayan Parishad, indigenous people held a protest rally where speakers criticised government's move to evict people in the name of coal extraction. Engineer Joshef Mohipal Malo presided over the rally addressed by Dullal Tudu, Grenar Saben and Advocate Abed Reja.
