Malaysians look for joint ventures in Bangladesh

Malaysia looks for partners for joint venture projects in Bangladesh to produce auto parts, textiles and halal food items in buyback arrangements or for third country export.

A Malaysian business mission here yesterday was exchanging views with leaders of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) in Dhaka.

"Malaysian entrepreneurs are going out in search of partners abroad amid rising cost of doing business in these areas," mission leader Jalilah Baba, who is the director of Malaysian Domestic Investment Promotion Division, told the meeting.

She made the call for joint venture as local business leaders explained the market potential of the products and the investment incentives Bangladesh offered to foreign investors in the areas.
