Ohid Hossain of Ahmedpur village in Madhabpur upazila was found unconscious at his ward Thursday afternoon, according to the jail authorities.

He was immediately shifted to the jail hospital. He was again sent to Habiganj district hospital where the physicians declared him dead.

Ohid might have died of heart attack, the jail authorities said. But the hospital sources said the jail authorities have brought him dead to the hospital.

However, the cause of the death cannot be ascertained without the post-mortem report, source said.

The body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem in the hospital yesterday afternoon.
