Juba Dhara leader freed one hour after his arrest


Jahangir Alam Biplob, convener of Juba Dhara, the youth front of Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh, was arrested last night, but he was set free within an hour.

Police sources said Biplob, who was also the APS to former president Badruddoza Chowdhury, was arrested by Gulshan police from Shahdatpur area during a block raid at about 8:00pm.

When contacted, Mahi B Chowdhury MP, organising secretary of Bikalpa Dhara, told UNB that Biplob was freed from Gulshan police station at about 9:00pm.

He said Biplob gave his identity when police arrested him.
