7 shops gutted in B'baria

Seven shops burned down in a devastating fire that broke out at Rampur Bazar in Sadar upazila in the early hours of yesterday.Fire Service sources said an electrical short-circuit sparked off the fire at a shop at about 2:00am, which swept through the adjacent shops. Receiving information, fire fighters from Sadar headquarters and Madhabpur rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze with the help of the local people. The loss was estimated at about Tk 10 lakh, sources said.
