Govt's move to shift Ramna Kali Mandir protested

Bangladesh Minority Sangram Parishad, an organisation of country's Hindu community, yesterday protested government's move to shift the Ramna Kali Mandir (Temple) and demanded immediate return of temple land that has been occupied.

They also demanded a three-day government holiday instead of the existing one-day to celebrate the Durga puja and 75 reserved seats in the National Parliament for minority community.

The Sangram Parishad held a rally and brought out a procession at Muktangon in the city yesterday to press their demands.

Addressing the rally, the leaders of the organisation said a vested quarter, working at the government's different sectors are conspiring to grab the property of the Ramna Kali Mandir.

The quarter has already occupied two acres and 22 decimal properties of the temple and now conspiring to grab all the property in the name of shifting, they added.

They urged the government to take measures to stop the move to shift the temple for the sake of country's secular spirit.
