ROK inflation rises 2.4pc in May

South Korea's inflation rate struck 2.4 per cent year-on-year in May as higher oil prices and a rise in service fees offset a drop in agricultural prices, the National Statistical Office said Thursday.

The May consumer price index was up 0.2 per cent month-on-month, compared with a 0.1 per cent gain in April, the office said.
