Police did not interrogate the Boishakhi director MNH Bulu yesterday considering his health condition, although a Dhaka court granted a one-day remand for him on Wednesday in an attempt-to-murder case."Fearing he may suffer from cardiac arrest as he has heart problems, I did not take him for quizzing," the IO of the case Sub-inspector (SI) Aminur Rashid said adding that the probe is still in its primary stage. As the IO did not seek further remand, the court sent him to jail in connection with another case filed by his divorced wife Hosne Ara Naznin. Meantime, another Dhaka court yesterday fixed June 4 for hearing on the bail petition for Hosne Ara's case. Judge Monowara Begum of the Second Special Tribunal for Prevention of Women and Children Repression passed the order following the appeal of Bulu's lawyers. Hosne Ara, in her FIR filed under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, said Bulu had tortured her for dowry. The IO of the case Shariful Islam in the police report placed before the court prayed not to grant bail to Bulu on security grounds. Bulu was arrested early Wednesday after Abdus Salam Majumdar and Hosne Ara filed two separate cases against him on Tuesday night. On Tuesday, Bulu filed a criminal case against Public Works Minister Mirza Abbas and Kazi Mohammad Shahidullah, MD of Boishakhi, a private satellite channel, accusing them of threatening him with death unless he handed over his share without demanding money.
