Opposition Chief Whip's house 'ransacked' in Srimongal

The Srimongal residence of the Chief Whip of Opposition in Jatiya Sangsad, M Shaheed, was allegedly ransacked by unknown miscreants.

Upazila Awami League (AL) general secretary and Satgaon Union Parishad (UP) chairman Ranadhir Deb when they went to the house found the doors of the rooms broken and furniture and articles lying scattered on the floor.

The chief whip's family members are now staying in the capital.

The AL Leader informed the matter to Srimangal Police who visited the house at Mission Road.

When contacted, the OC dismissed the incident as an attack. Terming it a theft, he said the loss is yet to be ascertained as the family members are out of the house. A case will be registered on return of the chief whip or his family members, the OC said.
