Ctg bakery sealed off for using adulterated raw materials

A mobile court in an anti-adulteration drive here yesterday sealed off an unauthorised bakery for producing confectionery items using adulterated raw materials.Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) Magistrate Munir Chowdhury sealed off the Lokmania Bakery near Saltgola crossing in absence of the owner, staffs and workers who fled the scene before the court reached there, sources said. He entered the bakery breaking the lock open and seized huge quantity of adulterated loaf, biscuit, cake, patties and contaminated raw materials kept in an unhygienic condition. The bakery, set up illegally on the bank of a canal named Kumar Khal, remains flooded with tidal water said Munir Chowdhury while talking to The Daily Star. The bakery has been running for long time without BSTI license, he added.
