2 high officials of Ctg customs suspended

Two high officials of Chittagong Customs were suspended allegedly for helping import of old chassis through false documentation.They were identified as Assistant Commissioner (AC) Mahbub of Customs House and AC Farid of Jetty. They were suspended following an order of the National Board of Revenue yesterday. According to sources, the suspended officials helped one businessmen of Dhaka bring five chassises of Toyota Pradu Jeep made in 1998. As there is restriction on importing over 4-year-old reconditioned vehicles, they showed them as manufactured in 2002, the sources added.
