Valdez joins Dortmund

Paraguayan international striker Nelson Haedo Valdez has signed a four-year contract with German club Borussia Dortmund after Werder Bremen finally accepted a 4.7-million-euro bid on Tuesday.Bremen wanted to keep Valdez, who will spearhead Paraguay's attack at the World Cup, but the 22-year-old said he was tired of sitting on the substitutes' bench. "We are glad to have reached an agreement with Bremen as Nelson was our first choice striker," said Dortmund sporting direcor Michael Zorc. Valdez can now concentrate on the World Cup finals with Paraguay's opening game against England in Frankfurt on June 10.
