Tremor jolts Chittagong

A moderate tremor measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale jolted the port city and its adjoining areas in the early hours yesterday.Geophysical Observatory Centre (GOC) sources said the tremor occurred at around 1:44am and lasted for 22 seconds. The epicentre was 203-km off the country's lone Seismic Observatory Centre at Ambagan in the city, the sources said. Yesterday's tremor was the 6th one of this year and the second in the last month, said an official of Ambagan Seismic Observatory centre.
