Re-orientation of politicians
A Husnain , Dhaka
An analyst has pointed out (DS supplement on Cities, 10 Feb) that the utter failure of political governance is due to the fact that the political leaders prefer governance through ideologies, than concentrating on functional governance; (one reason they employ observance of elaborate yearly "anniversaries", out of which nothing practical comes out for future use at grassroots levels). Political gimmick? There are no tutorial schools for implanting political philosophy, before embarking on field activities; we resist change (security syndrome). It is an issue for public debate.
