Kibria, also an Awami League leader, was killed in a grenade attack in Habiganj on January 27, 2005.

His family has drawn up elaborate programmes to mark the day.

The programmes included placing of wreaths at Kibria's graveyard at Banani at 8:00am, a three-day photo exhibition and a discussion at Bilia auditorium at Dhanmondi at 3:30pm.

Sonar Bangla Jubo Parishad and the weekly Mridubhasan will jointly arrange the photo exhibition, which will be inaugurated today and remain open from 10:00am to 5:00pm daily until May 3.

Dr Syed Abdus Samad will present a keynote paper at the discussion.
