Govt forest land recovered in Shakhipur

Officials of Hotia Forest Range in Shakhipur upazila in Tangail have recovered 100 acres of government forest land from grabbers, says a press release. Range Officer Abdul Kader Chowdhury, accompanied by Assistant Forest Officer Md Nurul Islam, Kazal Talukdar and forest guards launched a drive on Thursday in Gazaria Kirtonkhola and Mochariapathar areas under Hotia Range and recovered the lands. They destroyed banana plantations there, made by the grabbers. The forest department will raise forests on the recovered lands under its social afforestation programme, the press release said. Earlier, forest officials recovered 32 acres forest land from grabbers in the area. The press release said all official procedures have been completed for launching another drive to recover 136 acres of grabbed forest land in Madhupur upaziula.
