The victim was identified as Babul Akhter, 28, the security guard of a house at Dhanmondi.

The victim told the reporters that he received bullets in his right leg and hand at around 10:30am when he prevented the miscreants from entering a flat on the second floor of an apartment.

The criminals then left the place firing few blank shots.

The guard was rushed to Bangladesh Medical College Hospital from where he was shifted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

The reason behind the incident couldn't be known immediately.

According to Dhanmondi police, none was arrested and no case was filed in this connection.
