10 hurt as Nagordola collapses


Ten people were critically injured when a 'Nagordola' suddenly collapsed at Lengta Baba's Urs at Beltoli village in Matlab.

The accident occurred at around 8:00pm on Saturday as the Nagordola (Merry-go-round) was overloaded.

All the injured were admitted to a private clinic at Baganbari village.

The Nagordola was being operated by Nurul Islam of Brahmanbaria.

The injured were identified as Bristi, 8, Afia Aktar, 20, Rassel, 10, Pervez, 21, Tuhin, 20, Sadeq, 13, Mizan, 18, Aslam, 18, Sumon, 12 and Sujan, 15.

Every year, the weeklong urs is organised from 30 March to 5 April to mark the death anniversary of Hazrat Shah Solaiman.
