Butenis, the 12th US envoy in Bangladesh since America opened its diplomatic mission in Dhaka, is to arrive on a British Airways flight, said foreign ministry source.

Chargé d' Affaires Judith Ann Chammas was in charge of the Dhaka mission since ambassador Harry K. Thomas left Dhaka on July 2, 2005.

Butenis, who was deputy chief of mission at the US Embassy in Islamabad (2004-2006), was confirmed as envoy to Bangladesh by the Senate on February 16, and sworn in on March 17.
