Roopkothar Golpo
Tauquir Ahmed's new venture

After Jaijatra, actor-filmmaker Tauquir Ahmed is working on his next project Roopkothar Golpo.

Though the title of the film suggests a "fairy tale", the film features no ogre, no dragon, no magic sword or flying horses. Roopkothar Golpo is a story of human endurance, a story of how far a mother will go for her child, a story of the eternal struggle for a better life.

The characters of the film are a jobless young man, a drifter and her baby and a drunken truck driver. In a passenger-shed, the drifter meets the young man and the truck driver. The single mother, desperate to save her child, agrees to go with the truck driver to earn a few bucks. She leaves her baby with the young man at the shed. A patrolling police van picks up the youth and the baby. The truck driver, the drifter and youth are separated. What happens next? The film follows the events thereafter.

Humayun Faridee, Tauquir Ahmed, Taskeen Shumi, Chanchal Chowdhury, Fima and Tushar Khan play the central characters in the film. Part of the shooting has been done in Tangail. The rest of the film, will be shot in Nilphamari and other rural areas. The film has been produced by Impress Telefilm.
