The victim was identified as Rina, 15, who worked at the house of Mohammad Selim, a leader of Tangail District Road Transport Federation.

Receiving information, the police recovered the body from in front of the house of Abdus Samad, brother of Selim.

Selim said Rina went to bed at midnight on Thursday after completing the household chores.

He also said that he received the news of her death from local people in the morning.

S Alam, officer-in-charge of Tangail Sadar Police Station, suspects that Rina was strangled as her neck was broken.

The police brought the body of the victim to the police station. No case was filed in this connection as of yesterday evening.
