FIFA names WC referees

World football governing body FIFA on Friday named 23 referees from as many countries for the 64 World Cup matches in Germany starting on June 9.Europe have the largest contingent with ten referees including France's Eric Poulat, German Markus Merk, Spaniard Enrique Mejuto Gonzalez, Massimo De Santis of Italy and Britain's Graham Poll. There are two referees each from Asia and Africa, three from North and Central American, South America (5) and Oceania (1). The World Cup will be held in Germany from June 9 to July 9.
