Somo Adhiker presses 7-point demand


Leaders of Somo Adhiker Andolon, an organisation of Bangalees in the hills, yesterday demanded cancellation of the Chittagong Hill Tracts peace agreement signed by in 1997 by the then Awami League government with the Parbattya Chattagram Jana Sanghity Samity (PCJSS).

At a press conference here, its leaders also put forward a seen-point demand including rehabilitation of 110 Bangalee families displaced from Gamiridala and withdrawal of indigenous people from Bangalee-owned lands.
