Capital punishment for JMB chief demanded

Wives of slain judges Shahid Sohel Ahmed and Jagannath Pandy have demanded speedy trial and capital punishment of JMB chief Shaekh Abdur Rahman.The two judges were killed by JMB suicide bombers in Jhalakati on November 14,2005. Kanta Ahmed, widow of Judge Shahid Sohel Ahmed and Pallabi Pandey Rita, widow of Judge Jagannath Pandey in interviews with journalists in Bhola and Barisal hailed the arrest of Shaekh Rahman but said killers of their husbands have not yet been chargesheeted. He is the man responsible for making us widows and killing so many people and so he deserves exemplary punishment, they said. We want speedy trial and capital punishments for him and his associates, the two widows said. JMB cadres accused of serial bomb blasts were given capital punishment In Jhenidah and Sylhet though there was no loss of life or damage to property in the incidents. But in the Jhalakathi judges' killing case filed under the Explosive Act, the culprits were given only 40 years jail, they said. JMB has distracted and turned into criminals hundreds of youths and shattered the image of the country they said.
