The victims are Hajera, 9, Mariyam, 7, and Jesmin, 12, of Najibpur village in Kalapara upazila, and Rashida, 8, of Galachipa upazila of the district.

Police said they rescued the girls in the afternoon as they cried for help.

The victims told police that some miscreants had picked up them from Mahipur while they were going to their relatives' house.

Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the traffickers fled the scene.
