Two more KTS fire victims die

Two more workers of KTS Textile and Garments factory succumbed to their burn injuries at intensive care unit (ICU) of Chittagong Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) yesterday and on Thursday night, raising the death toll in the worst-ever factory fire in the country to 58.The dead were identified as Kamrun Nahar, 34, and Monir, 24. Kamrun Nahar died 12:30pm yesterday while Monir at 9:30pm on Thursday, sources said. Twenty-three workers of the factory are now undergoing treatment at CMCH. Of them, eight are at ICU and the remaining 15 at ward no 27 (surgery). A total of 49 KTS fire victims were admitted to CMCH. Four of them--Monir, Hannan, Monir and Kamrun Nahar--died so far. Six of the fire injured--Noor Jahan Abdus Salam, Farzana, Sima Barua, Luvly and Marzina--were shifted to Dhaka for better treatment and the others admitted to the hospital with fractures or other minor injuries were released.
