Three DIGs promoted

Three Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of police were promoted to the rank of Additional Inspector General yesterday.They are SM Mizanur Rahman, Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Shamsul Islam, Additional Director General of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) and Noor Mohammad, DIG of Khulna range. Home Ministry in a order yesterday gave Mizanur Rahman the charge of DMP commissioner, sources said. Earlier, he was on current charge. Shamsul Islam has been made director general of the DNC while Noor Mohammad transferred to the police headquarters immediately after their promotion.
