Rajshahi College student beaten to death

A student of Rajshahi Government College was beaten to death Monday night in Joynagar village under Durgapur upazila in a clash over land dispute.The victim was identified as Shariful Islam, a Master's student. Police said, family members of Shariful and his neighbours Mainul and Forkan were locked in a quarrel Monday night on possession of a disputed land. At a stage, opponents attacked Shahriful with lethal weapons and beat him with a hammer. He was rushed to Durgapur Upazila Health Complex, where died later. A case has been filed with police accusing 17 people. Police arrested four persons-- Mainul, Forkan, Tahajul and Sudana.
