Hearing of Beximco case against SQ Chy's brothers refixed on Feb 2

Hearing of the case filed by Beximco Holdings against three brothers of Salauddin Qader Chowdhury, parliamentary affairs adviser to the prime minister, on charges of misappropriating Tk 95 crore of QC Container Lines Limited, will be held in the High Court tomorrow. The hearing of the case was due yesterday, but the High Court bench of Justice Shamim Hasnain refixed February 2 for the hearing. On December 15, 2005, Chairman of Beximco Holdings Sohel F Rahman and Deputy Chairman Salman F Rahman, also shareholders of QC Container Lines Limited, filed the case with the High Court, accusing three brothers of Salauddin Qader Chowdhury Giyasuddin Qader Chowdhury, Saifuddin Qader Chowdhury and Jamaluddin Qader Chowdhury. It was stated in the case that Managing Director of the QC Container Lines Limited Jamaluddin Qader Chowdhury and its Directors Giyasuddin Qader Chowdhury and Saifuddin Qader Chowdhury had misappropriated Tk 95 crore of the QC Container Lines Limited by showing additional fares from its four ships and siphoning off the money abroad. Earlier, the High Court bench fixed January 30 for hearing the matter. Barrister Rafique-ul Huq will move for Beximco Holdings while TH Khan for three brothers of Salauddin Qader Chowdhury.
