Natyachakra stages Bhaddornok today

Preview of tonight’s play:
17th century French playwright Moliere in his play The Bourgeois Gentleman deals with the eternal question-- What is more important for a human being, his dynasty and social status or humane qualities?

Golam Sarwar's comedy, titled Bhaddornok, an adapted version of Moliere's The Bourgeois Gentleman, presents the story of the lower-class Fazar Ali who has earned a huge sum of money in Kuwait. However, after returning to Bangladesh, he struggles to learn the manners of the upper echelon, forgetting his roots. Through the story of Fazar Ali, adaptor Golam Sarwar has presented the vices and follies of aristocrats who lack morality.

Junaid Eusuf is the set and light designer of the play

As part of the ongoing theatre festival, Natyachakra will stage Bhaddornok at the Experimental Theatre Stage at 6:30 pm.
