The miscreants hurled the bomb from a motorcycle creating panic among the people at Daulatpur, witnesses said. All the shops were closed and people started running helter skelter out of panic.

The bomb was hurled targeting Siddiqur Rahman, general secretary of Khulna Divisional Petroleum Products Distributors' Association, police said. But he survived the attack as the bomb exploded near the door of the filling station.

Siddique told the Daily Star that he was given death threat two months ago by a Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP Janajuddho) faction for refusing to pay toll.
