Gazipur militant admits role in August 17 blasts

A JMB cadre yesterday gave statement before a magistrate in Gazipur, admitting that he had been involved in the August 17 countrywide blasts.Mahbubur Rahman, 32, of Kashempur, however, denied having played any role in the blasts on Gazipur court premises and in front of DC office on Tuesday and Thursday. Police arrested him in district's Konabari area on Friday night along with two others. Leaflets, books and some training materials were recovered from his possession. Mahbub said he is a first-year student of Hatimara College in the town and an operative of JMB.
