Advocate Nurul Huda, who was critically injured in the November 29 blast on the district bar association premises, died yesterday, raising the death toll to nine in two suicide bomb attacks in Gazipur.

Huda succumbed to his injuries at the ICU (intensive care unit) of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) at 9:20am, hospital sources said. He received splinters in the legs, stomach and suffered from critical burn injuries.

Hundreds of people gathered at his namaz-e-janaza held at about 4:15pm in Rajbari to pay their last respect to the dead amid tension and fear of more attacks.

Locals yesterday noon held two youths, Akil and Alamgir, suspecting them to be the members of the banned Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), when they were circulating leaflets in a mosque.
