The deceased were identified as Saidul, 45, and his daughter Hamida, 9, hailed from Shialkathi village of Banaripara Upazila under Barisal district.

Police said the accident occurred when a bus rammed their rickshaw from behind in the morning, killing the minor girl on the spot and injuring her father.

Later, Saidul was admitted to a local clinic where he succumbed to his injures.

They were going to their relative's house at Dagarmora by the rickshaw.

Police seized the bus and arrested its driver Nannu Miah.

Rajbari

Meanwhile, one person was killed and another injured in a road accident in the town on Rajbari-Faridpur road on Friday.

Witnesses said Shahin died on the spot and Mamun was injured when a bus, coming from opposite direction, rammed their motorcycle. They hailed from Sajjankanda village in Sadar upazila.

Mamun was admitted to Sadar Hospital in critical condition.

Police seized the truck.
