Three commit suicide


Three people, including two women, committed suicide by taking poison in the early hours of yesterday in separate incidents in Dhaka and Narayanganj.

Farida Akther, 25, took poison after quarrelling with her family members over family affairs at her Free School Street house in the city. She was taken to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at about 1:00am where the doctors declared her dead.

Anny, 18, took poison at about 7:30pm on Friday at the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital staff quarter as her boyfriend Jamal spurned her proposal for love affairs. It is learned that she had stayed with him till around 6:00pm. Anny was admitted to DMCH where she died in the early hours yesterday.

Mohammad Ekramul, 20, of Jalkuri at Fatullah in Narayanganj took poison after quarrelling with his wife at about 8:00pm on Friday. His father took him to the DMCH at about 1:30am where the doctors declared him dead.

Three bodies have been sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy.

Three unnatural death cases have been lodged in separate police stations.
