The authorities concerned have imposed some restrictions on holding rallies, bringing out processions, carrying arms and movement of motorised vehicles in the constituency during the election, an official handout said here yesterday.

Under the restrictions, all have been asked to refrain from holding rallies, public gatherings and processions 48 hours before the election that starts from the midnight of today and ends at the midnight of December 5.

Besides, the ban was also imposed on the movement of motorbikes, auto-rickshaws, microbuses, jeeps, pick-ups, cars, trucks, tempos, launches, motorised boats and speedboats from the midnight of December 4 to the midnight of election day in the constituency.

The restrictions however will not be applicable for those engaged in election duties, journalists, and election observers, the handout said, adding that the ban will not be effective on highways also.

Apart from this, the ban has also been imposed on carrying licenced arms in the constituency from the midnight of December 3 to the midnight of December 6.
