Despite Tareq Ahmed Ruben's unbeaten 158, Partex Sporting Club suffered a four-wicket defeat to Rupali Bank in the First Division Cricket League at the City Club ground yesterday.The Bankers thrived on three half centuries by Sumon (86), Kamrul (79) and Alamgir (52) to stage a brilliant run-chase as they raced to 299-6 in 49.1 overs in reply to 297-5 in 50 overs. Ruben smashed 13 boundaries and eight sixes in his 131-ball innings. In the day's other matches, Kathalbagan GCC (167-10) defeated Dhanmondi Club (141-10) by 26 runs at BKSP and Lalmatia Club (231-6) beat Eskaton SS (192-10) by 39 runs at the Dhaka University ground.
