BNP leader shot dead in Pabna

A local leader of the ruling BNP was gunned down by unidentified assailants near Kazirhat ferry ghat under Bera upazila last night.Police and witnesses said the assailants sprayed bullets on Abdul Matin, 30, general secretary of BNP's Kazirhat Union, at a shop at about 10:30pm and left the scene. Matin died instantly. The motive behind the killing could not be known. Police recovered the body and sent it to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
