Closeup 1 talent hunt countdown starts

It's been quite a journey for the Closeup 1 contestants who made it to the 'Top 10'. After months of grueling practice and competition, 11 hopefuls were selected by the TV audiences and the three judges. Unfortunately for four of them, the voyage stopped here. Only seven of them are going to the 'Lucky 7' round. It's a 'dog eat dog' world after all and the only crème de la crème will make it to the peak.

Some may be confused with the part of 11 contestants making it to 'Top 10'. Since both Nourin and Rumi received 51 points, which was the benchmark for making it to that round, the regulation was curved just a little to honour the audiences' votes and give another opportunity to a talented singer to prove her worth.

In the last round (Bangla Cinema Oldies), more or less all the contestants delivered crowd-pleasing performances. Thanks to famed make-up artiste, Farzana Shakil's magnificent make-overs, the contestants not only sounded great but also looked like stars from the bygone era.

However, when last Tuesday night the results were announced, Rumi, Nourin, Abid and Mahdi were eliminated. Rashed, Nolok, Beauty, Mehrab, Sonya, Razib and Rinku made it to the 'Lucky 7' round. Now these seven will fight it out in the next round and the competition will move forward towards finding the voice Bangladesh is looking for.
