Let's find together ways to stop bomb terrorism
PM urges all political parties for talks, terms it a national problem

Prime Minister Khaleda Zia yesterday called on all political parties and distinguished personalities to sit together and find out ways to stop bomb terrorism.She also urged people not to rent or give shelter to strangers in their areas and warned that action would be taken, if necessary, against the defaulting landlords and others. She termed the bomb terrorism a national problem, not a problem of individual, saying that a tough law would be enacted to punish the perpetrators. "Let us unitedly find out the ways through discussion how to stop this terrorism. This bomb blasts will have to stop. Come to parliament...if necessary, the cabinet will recommend a tough law to award punishment to the perpetrators," Khaleda, also chairperson of the ruling BNP, told a public meeting at Jurain in the capital. Those who are carrying out terrorism and killing people in the name of Islam will have to be punished, she said and termed Tuesday's killings in Gazipur and Chittagong heinous and brutal. "The terrorists are enemies of Islam, democracy, development, humanity as well as the people and the country," Khaleda said, adding: "Nobody supports such terror acts in the name of religion. The prime minister also urged people to help catch the bombers and to inform police and law enforcement agencies if they find any suspected stranger in their areas. Chaired by local MP Salahuddin Ahmed, the rally was addressed, among others, by Environment and Forest Minister Tariqul Islam, Communications Minister Nazmul Huda, Public Works and Housing Minister Mirza Abbas, City BNP President and Mayor Sadeq Hossian Khoka, State Minister for Cultural Affairs Selima Rahman, Prime Minister's Political Secretary Harris Chowdhury, State Minister for Labour and Employment Amanullah Aman and Jubo Dal President Barkatullah Bulu, among others, addressed the meeting. Earlier, the prime minister inaugurated the newly constructed Dayaganj-Jurain link road and Dholaikhal new road by unveiling plaques.
