With Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in the chair, a meeting of the cabinet also approved a proposal for receiving the Saarc Award 2004, which was conferred on late president Ziaur Rahman posthumously, in recognition of his contributions to promote peace, progress and regional cooperation under an institutional framework.

Besides, the cabinet approved in principle the Public Procurement Act 2005 with some amendments to make the public procurement process more transparent.

The proposed 'Saarc Limited Multilateral Treaty on Avoidance of Double Taxation' and the 'Agreement for Establishment of Saarc Arbitration Council' are among four deals going to be struck at the forthcoming summit in Dhaka.

The accords are aimed at boosting intra-regional trade and investment by easing tariff and customs procedures and resolving other problems.
